XRAI Hack - Cologne

Overview

This hackathon challenges XR creators to build innovative Meta Quest applications using the Meta XR SDK, Passthrough Camera Access, and Context-Aware AI. You can focus on creating experiences that blend the physical and virtual worlds, developing AI applications that understand user surroundings, or designing engaging social environments in Horizon Worlds. The goal is to showcase the potential of mixed reality and AI.

Requirements

Teams should consist of 2 to 5 members, and all participants must be of legal age in their country of residence. The hackathon is open globally, with standard exceptions. Participants need to build their projects using the Meta XR SDK and Meta Quest platform. For submission, teams must provide a working project, a one-minute demonstration video, and a text description explaining their project. For Mixed Reality and AI with PCA categories, an APK file is required. For Horizon Worlds, a link to the published world is needed. All submissions must be newly created and not previously submitted or published.

Prizes

There is a total of $9,000 in cash prizes. In the Mixed Reality Category, the first prize is $1,500 and the runner-up prizes are $750 each. For the Best Use of AI with PCA Category, the first prize is $1,500 and the runner-up prizes are $750 each. The Horizon Worlds Category also offers a first prize of $1,500 and runner-up prizes of $750 each.
