Roo Code Hackathon
Overview
This hackathon challenges you to build projects using AI to reshape how we create software, focusing on the AI coding assistant Roo Code. You'll experience the future of development by using advanced AI tools that can write, refactor, and debug code. Participants will get free compute power, including Gemini credits, to help bring their ideas to life.
Requirements
Teams can have up to 5 members, and solo participants are welcome. You must be at least 16 years old to join, and certain countries are excluded. All projects need to be submitted with a demo video that is 2 minutes or less and clearly states the hackathon's name at the beginning. Your code must be publicly available in a repository, and both your code and video must remain public after the event to be eligible for prizes. You must also complete all registration steps on Devpost and ensure your email matches across Devpost and any MLH event pages you use for check-in. Projects must be created during the hackathon weekend and cannot include prior work or be submitted to other hackathons simultaneously. You can only submit one project per team.
Prizes
There are four non-cash prizes available. The 'Best First-Time Hack' award gives each team member $300 in Requesty credits. The 'Best UI/UX' prize also awards $300 in Requesty credits per team member for outstanding design. For the most impressive AI project using Roo Code, the 'Best AI Hack' provides each team member with $500 in Requesty credits. Finally, the 'Best Use of Gemini API' prize encourages creative applications of Google Gemini, with details on the prize value not specified but emphasizing pushing AI boundaries.
