Reddit and Kiro: Community Games Challenge
Overview
This hackathon challenges you to build new games, social experiments, or experiences for Reddit using their Developer Platform and the Interactive Posts feature. You'll use web technologies to create Devvit apps and can leverage Kiro to enhance your development workflow. The goal is to create polished, community-focused games that bring redditors together.
Requirements
Participants must be above the legal age of majority in their country and can join from anywhere except countries with standard exceptions. Teams can be any size. You'll need to build your game using Reddit's Developer Platform and the Devvit framework. Submissions require a link to your app on developer.reddit.com and a demo post showing your game running on a subreddit. For the "Best Kiro Developer Experience" award, you also need to provide a detailed write-up or a short video explaining how Kiro improved your development process, and a public, open-source code repository that includes a /.kiro directory.
Prizes
There's a total of $45,000 in cash prizes available. The "Best Game - Community Play" winner gets $15,000, and the "Best Kiro Developer Experience" winner receives $10,000. Ten winners will get $1,000 each for Honorable Mentions in Community Play, and five winners will get $1,000 each for Honorable Mentions in Kiro Developer Experience. Additionally, three winners will receive $1,000 for the "Devvit Helper Award" and ten winners will get $200 for the "Feedback Award."
