DS+X

Overview

DS+X is a hackathon where data science meets any other domain you're passionate about, like public policy, health, art, or climate. Organized by BU Spark!, it's for college students to build impactful prototypes that combine data analysis with other fields. The event encourages responsible and ethical data use to solve real-world problems.

Requirements

This hackathon is for college students who are above the legal age of majority in their country of residence and located in the US. Teams should consist of 4-5 individuals. You can use any programming language, framework, or library to build your solution. Submissions must include a link to your project's GitHub repository with a README, a link to a deployed frontend if applicable, a PowerPoint presentation, and a video demonstrating setup and use.

Prizes

DS+X offers a total of $5,215 in cash prizes across various categories. The 'Best Overall' prize is $1,150, and 'Best Tech Implementation' is $900. Other prizes include $300 for 'HackBU - My Passion Project', $450 for 'HackBU - Challenges', and several categories within 'AI Sandbox' and 'ArtHack' ranging from $150 to $450. There are also multiple prizes for the 'FirstHack' category.
